The Tendon Stretch ✨

This exercise isn’t just about flexibility or “getting your heels down.” It’s a whole-body connection.
 An opportunity to explore how breath, control, lift and length all work together. 🙏🏼

On the Reformer, Tendon Stretch reveals how evenly you can load through the feet,connect through the legs, and lift up out of your centre.

This week, I’m cueing my fabulous teacher Emily to refine her movement. To find that deeper internal connection rather than following the rhythm (which is also important in this exercise)

We slowed it down… To feel and to move from a place of true inner strength 💪🏼 the kind that builds that internal heat 🔥 or shower 🚿 as Joseph Pilates called it.

Over the next two weeks I’ll share how we continued to build on this, exploring Tendon Stretch through other apparatus,new cues and subtle shifts to find even greater connection.

I’ve spent years building clients bodies back together, and now it’s my time to do it for myself.

Rebuilding after my C-section (and oblique tear) has been the most humbling and eye-opening experience of my life.

It’s taught me more about patience, precision, and the power of strong foundations than any other phase of my training journey.

When you’ve always been strong and capable, it’s not easy to start from the ground up again. Some days it’s frustrating, but I’ve really learnt to celebrate the small wins, the subtle strength returning, and the deep respect I now have for my body’s ability to heal and rebuild, and for every other mummy out there. 🙌🏼❤️

Yesterday I didn’t want to train. My energy was low, but once I started, something shifted. Every exercise felt different, more connected, more intentional. It reminded me how powerful this work truly is. 🙏🏼

I’ve done some serious groundwork these past five months. Looking at movement in new ways, feeling things differently, almost like for the first time, like a student again.

This experience has only deepened my passion and respect for this method and system, especially seeing it now through a new body and mindset.

Trust the process, I keep telling myself… and one of my favourite quotes from the main man, Joseph Pilates
