That’s the thing about Classical Pilates. It meets you where you are, but continues to support you as you move through different stages of life.

Mum life has completely thrown my body this week! 😅

A lot more carrying, a lot less training, and a rapidly growing baby permanently on one hip has left me completely out of balance.

Neck pain, a little numbness into my foot, I could feel it all stemming from my lower back and the way I’d been shortening into one side.

I knew I didn’t need to “push harder” I needed to put myself back together.

So I went back to the most precise reset I know… a very gentle classical reformer session.

On the archival @gratz_pilates reformer (less padding, more honesty 😅), the difference was instant. The footbar alone and its low positioning gave my lower back space I didn’t even realise I’d lost, just from lying down and placing my feet was a huge relief.

The shoulder blocks don’t let you cheat, they square your box, organise your body, and bring you back into true alignment.

I worked through the classical intermediate sequence slowly and intentionally, and there’s not a time I’m always reminded of why the combination of classical exercises using classical apparatus is so powerful:

> It works EVERYTHING, every muscle, every inch of you
> It takes your spine through all its natural movements
> It rebuilds stability, (especially through that often-neglected posterior chain)
> And most importantly, it restores balance where life has pulled you out of it

This wasn’t about “smashing a workout” it was about realigning, reconnecting, and giving my body exactly what it needed.

And honestly… I walked out feeling like me again. 🤸🏻

Put back together, from the crown of my head to the tips of my toes. 😊

I felt so good (and pain-free) afterwards that it genuinely energised me to train again with some of the girls…I’ll share that workout later this week 👀

Proof that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is slow down, get precise, and trust the most incredible method 🙏🏼
