Yesterday was the launch of our first Open Gym at Exhale 🎉

We are so excited to bring the original format that Joseph Pilates taught at his studio and share it with you all.

Giving guidance but gaining the power of having autonomy over your body and mind is a powerful tool to gain 🙏🏼

We are launching more Open Gym classes next month but we’d love to know if there is a specific studio and time you’d love to see on the schedule.

*Please note this class is open to teachers, apprentices and clients familiar with the Intermediate sequence
*Drop in sessions will also be available from March ✨

Modern living is leaving many of us with imbalances in our bodies, especially in the shoulders and neck.

We see clients come to us with migraines, TMJ and anxiety all which can stem from rounded shoulders, compression of the lungs and lack of strength and stability in their upper back.

With specific choices in his 1-1 and using carefully selected apparatus like the ladder barrel and baby chair, teacher Lynsey is helping Jesse release tension in his neck and shoulders, teach where his arms should be moving from and stretch out his chest, lats and upper back to give him more freedom of movement and better neck alignment

Take 5 minutes out of your day to get on the Mat and practice Joe’s original Mat sequence this week and remember repetition builds strength, increased flexibility and above all a deeper connection to our bodies.

We know it’s ski season with lots of our clients off on the slopes this week ⛷️

We’ve been working hard with them in the studios to make sure they are ski fit. Building strong and stable bodies that will help them avoid injury or bounce back if any niggles do arise.

1 Attention to detail. Teachers are able to give far more attention to clients and have the opportunity to watch you move with more detail.

2 Better Results. Clients progress faster with individual feedback and improved technique.

3 Safety. Pilates apparatus can be dangerous (especially the Reformer) when not used or supervised correctly. Small classes allow teachers to keep everyone moving safely.

4 Small group classes are almost like a private, you will get specific cues and hands on feedback.

5 Rapport between client & teacher. It’s easier to build up authentic relationships with smaller classes - we love seeing the amazing bonds that happen at Exhale 💕
