Lydia set up her own company, Lydia Wellness, in 2016 with the intention to inspire and guide others through their fitness journeys, teaching both Pilates and combining her passion for dance by teaching the ballet inspired workout, ‘Barre’.
“I’ve always loved exercising my body as dancing was a huge part of my life growing up – so when I tried Pilates for the first time I was instantly hooked. Pilates is an amazing way to switch off mentally and be physically challenged from the inside-out and I love the positive energy I feel after class. When attending regular classes, I noticed my strength increasing, my joints more mobile and my core had never been stronger!
It’s important for us all to take ‘time out’ as life can be so fast paced. Pilates allows for your ‘me time’ through applying mindfulness to movement and I believe everyone can benefit from this method of exercise. It not only brings effective results but also supports us in living life to the full, staying motivated and feeling great in our own skin.”

Tell us one non-Pilates fact about you?
I’ve always LOVED dance and I also teach Barre – you’ll often find me dancing around the kitchen cooking up something delicious or adventuring in the outdoors cycling/hiking somewhere beautiful.
What’s your favourite food?
I’m a big foodie so this is hard! Roast chicken with roasted veggies always wins me over.
What is your favourite Pilates apparatus?
I love the reformer, closely followed by the Cadi
Which three words describe your personality?
Upbeat, Patient, Loving
Do you have a nickname?
Not really! Lots of people shorten my name to Lyds, Lydsy, Lydles, Aunty Lou Lou!!

I love the passion and energy created by all the staff and teachers at Exhale, we’re like a big family! Everyone is supportive, friendly and welcoming and you always get a great workout! Gaby is a huge inspiration as she works hard to raise awareness of the benefits of classical Pilates making it accessible to everyone beyond clients visiting her studios.
