In a world of constant distraction, Pilates at Exhale gives you a chance to come back to yourself 🙏

We don’t have music at our studios, to allow our clients to really focus on the movement, technique and being as present as possible in connecting their breath, mind, and body together.

We also minimise cueing and too much direction to allow our clients to find their own rhythm in their body and another important tool to be present with themselves rather than external distractions.

Pilates created his practice to strengthen the mind, body and spirit. Which is often overlooked.

Quieting the external allows you to work deeper internally and why so many of clients leave their sessions feeling so empowered and centred 🫶🏻

Did you know that the Wunda Chair, designed in the 1930’s which Joseph Pilates called his mini gym can also flip upside down and be used as a traditional chair! 💁🏻‍♀️

He created this dual functionality for his clients who lived in small apartments in New York, so they could workout at home without taking up too much space.

And wow does this small but mighty apparatus give you a workout! 🔥

We’ve chosen 3 exercises that you can do using an ordinary chair at home(or in the office!) to help boost circulation, core strength and space in your spine.

Single leg stretch, Criss Cross and Spine Stretch

The first part is using the back of the chair and an elevated base to give deeper feedback to your core. The second is to come to the front of any chair/sofa and enjoy some of our favourite Pilates exercises.

Whether used for a hard-core Pilates workout 💪🏼 or as a functional chair turned upside down🪑the Wunda chair is a key component of the Pilates practice and system and truly embodies the principles of strength, flexibility, and mindful movement. 🙏🏼

BTS of last weekends Classical Mat Course 🙌

Our newest group of Mat apprentices started their exciting journey to become qualified Classical mat teachers this weekend.

They were guided through the original mat work, gaining a deeper understanding of the intention and importance of the sequence.

They experienced the work in their own bodies, the importance of hands on and teaching tools to give them confidence as they continue their journey to becoming a qualified teacher.

It was amazing to have people fly in from all parts of the Globe including Finland, Israel and Ibiza to take the course with us!
