From opening and lengthening the body to building strength, control and mobility, the Barrel offers endless possibilities.

Here, our programme manager, Hannah, explains its design, purpose and how working with it can support your movement - both in the studio and beyond.

Want to experience it for yourself? Join our new Tower & Barrel class, now on the (newly expanded!) Exhale timetable.

📣We’re hiring: General Manager / Head of Operations

We’re looking for someone brilliant to help run and grow our three Exhale Pilates London studios.

Organised? Obviously.
Commercially minded? Definitely.
Great with people? Essential.

Able to juggle three studios, a busy team, lots of moving parts and the occasional curveball without losing your sense of humour?

We’re looking for someone who is intuitive, proactive and naturally takes ownership - the kind of person who notices what needs doing before anyone has to ask.

You’ll work closely with our Founder Gaby and SMT across our Marylebone, Primrose Hill and North Finchley studios, overseeing operations, people, performance and client experience while helping us continue to grow Exhale.

Experience in operations, wellness, fitness, hospitality, luxury service or multi-site management would be a big plus.

The role, title and salary will depend on experience. Finding the right person matters more to us than fitting someone into a job title.

If you love building businesses, leading people, fixing problems and making things happen - we’d love to meet you.

Send your CV + a little about yourself to studiolead@exhalepilateslondon.com

Pilates experience not required. An ability to embrace springs, spreadsheets and studio life is 😊

The best results aren’t always the ones you can photograph.

The best results are built over time and felt for life.

Thats the Exhale Promise 🫶

A strong core isn’t a look. It’s being able to pick up your kid, carry the shopping, and get off the floor without injuring yourself.

Most classes chase the aesthetic - the flat stomach, the “Pilates body,” the after-photo.

We’re chasing something that actually holds up under real life: the version of strength that shows up when you’re lifting a toddler out of a car seat, carrying four bags in one trip because you refuse to make two, or getting up off the garden floor after gardening for three hours without your back staging a protest.

That strength doesn’t depend on how hard the class was. It’s about whether your body was taught to move well while it worked - controlled, connected, intelligent. Anyone can make you sweat.

Building a body that functions for the other 23 hours of your day takes something else entirely.

Slow down before you speed up.

Such an important Pilates lesson and not a bad mantra to take into the weekend either. 🙌🏼☺️

Yesterday’s advanced workout with some of our apprentices was the perfect example.

The advanced work isn’t just about harder exercises. It’s about understanding how everything you have learnt through the system connects and gets you there.

Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come from breaking an exercise down, going back to the connections underneath it and understanding what the body needs before you build speed, stamina and flow.

This is where the dots either join or show you where they still need work.

And that’s where using the system becomes so powerful and why going back to ‘beginner’ exercises with an advanced mindset becomes so powerful (and hard 🥵)

Flow through the body. Flow between the exercises. That’s Strength, control, stamina and connection working together.

Go too fast and you can lose the connections.
Go too slowly and you can lose the rhythm and intention.

The real skill is knowing the work well enough to find both. 💪🏼

A great reminder that sometimes slowing down first is exactly what allows you to move forward with better clarity and strength!

Happy Friday everyone ❤️
