Stay in Your Lane!

Back to basics on the reformer feeling and listening to a body with different needs since returning from pregnancy.

I’m grateful I have the confidence now, especially since becoming a mum, to know there’s nothing to prove.

That my physical and mental journey isn’t something to rush or compare.

We all have: Different nervous systems. Different histories. Different needs. Different drivers behind the wheel.

So when I remind myself daily to stay in your lane, I don’t mean stay small. I mean stay honest. 🙏🏼
 Stay with what your body is actually asking for not what you see someone else’s body doing today.

Stay in your lane. Stay true to yourself

My 5-minute Pilates workout for gym goers!

Pilates is my non-negotiable warm up and cool down when I lift. 🏋🏻‍♀️

⬅️ Before lifting: Activates key stabilisers and mobilises joints ➡️ After lifting: Decompresses the spine and restores alignment

These are the 6 classical Pilates exercises I use consistently:

• Roll Down • Half Roll Back (with flexion + extension) • Scissors (with ankle mobility) • Rolling Like a Ball (incl. roll over prep) • Spine Stretch • Saw

*3-5 repetitions

I always use classical Pilates exercises because it trains the body as an integrated system.
 Nothing is random everything is connected, fluid, and intentional. 🌀

That matters with strength training, where movement patterns are often isolated and loaded. Pilates brings the body back into balance so you recover better and move better next session.

If you’re starting a new routine this January, prioritise how you warm up and cool down, It will decide how long you stay consistent for

I’m beyond excited to share that I’ll be a Presenter at @balanced_body Pilates on Tour® London, April 10–12, 2026! ✨

I’ll be teaching two workshops I absolutely love:
 💫 Flowing Through the Classics on the Reformer, where we’ll explore how to create seamless, intelligent flow while staying true to the heart of the classical work.
 🔥 Fun & Functional on the Wunda Chair, a practical workshop packed with creative progressions you can use immediately with your clients and in your own practice.

I’ll also be teaching Classical mat classes over the weekend and Exhale will also be supporting and delivering Joes Gym in the @contrology.bb suite 🙌🏼
