Tendon Stretch Series: Part 2

How to build confidence and control off the Reformer 💪

Tendon stretch is an exercise that can often feel intimidating and we get it.

There’s the balance to consider, which becomes even more challenging when your arms are reaching behind you. It also demands a deep connection to your powerhouse which is why it’s so important to build up to this exercise gradually. 🙏🏼

In this video, our wonderful teacher Emily demonstrates how to use the Wall Unit frame to practice balance and activate those stabilising muscles that make all the difference once you return to the Reformer.

This is the bridge that can help you from feeling fearful to fearless ☺️

Finding support, strength, and awareness in other parts of the studio helps your body truly understand the movement, and that’s exactly what makes the Pilates system so magical and endlessly fascinating for both the client and teacher.

I love finding new ways for us to get stronger and more connected to exercises we find challenging. That’s why learning Classical Pilates as a system can never, EVER get boring. It constantly stimulates both the brain and body.

Next week, we’ll show another piece of apparatus to continue building the strength and control needed to take everything we’ve learned back to the Reformer. 💪🏼
